Snow Windrow Program

This service removes the snow windrow, which is the pile of slushy snow at the end of your driveway that the snowplow makes as it goes by.  Residents are responsible for clearing their driveways after a snowfall.  However, shoveling "windrows" can be a task beyond the physical resources of some seniors and individuals with physical disabilities.

The Town of Oakville, together with Links2Care, is offering a user-paid driveway snow windrow removal service.

  • Oakville residents 65 years or older and those restricted through disability (including mobility challenges or heart conditions) are eligible
  • The service begins every time a snowfall exceeds 10 cm (4 inches) and only after the Town has completed plowing all the roads.  Smaller plow units are dispatched to each approved registrant address, where the windrow formed at the bottom of the driveway and is plowed off to the sides.  The plowing of the driveway itself is NOT included in this service.  Depending on the number of program registrants, it may take up to 12 hours to carry out the service.  Windrow plowing follows a precise schedule and cannot accomodate individual timing requests.  For medical emergencies, please call 911
  • The fee is $50 per season (non-refundable)
  • Registration information for the 2010/2011 Windrow Snow Removal program will be available in October 2010.
