Director, People & Culture

Links2Care is looking for a Director People & Culture based out of our Oakville location,  this is a permanent full-time position.

The Director, People & Culture is responsible for developing the vision for human resources processes, functions, policies, and protocols positioning Links2Care as a preferred provider of social care and health care services across Mississauga and Halton. The Director, People & Culture will develop and implement strategies to increase organizational effectiveness and knowledge and support a positive organizational culture aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives and priorities.  As a member of the Senior Leadership team, the Director, People & Culture will work together with other members of the team to develop and implement innovative and progressive initiatives that foster the sustainability, growth and development of employees and the organization.  The Director, People & Culture also serves as the Privacy Officer and Head of Health & Safety, overseeing and ensuring compliance, regulatory and legislative requirements.  The Director, People & Culture provides advice and counsel to the CEO on matters pertaining to human resources strategy, organizational development, privacy, Health and Safety and other applicable areas.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements human resources and volunteer strategies by identifying and researching human resources trends, issues, information, data, and reports making recommendations that support progressive approaches to developing and supporting people who work and/or volunteer at Links2Care
  • Establishes human resources objectives aligned with organizational and contractual objectives and accountability under the mandate of funders and CARF accreditation standards
  • Implements human resources strategies, including talent acquisition, employee relations, retention, compensation, training and development, succession planning, records management, performance management, Health & Safety, and legislative compliance
  • Measures and reports on human resources performance metrics and outcomes, implementing change as needed and staying current with legislative and regulatory changes
  • Assesses employee engagement and engagement with the organization and its priorities
  • Creates and leads human resources practices for recruiting, selection, orientation, training, coaching and mentorship, performance management, etc.
  • Fosters progressive leadership approaches in a complex and dynamic work environment
  • Develops strong customer service approaches, determining stakeholder service strategies, resolving issues, and implementing change to support a positive and engaged workforce
  • Guides the Leadership Team and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, and guidelines, communicating, and enforcing organizational values
  • Ensures legislative compliance with federal, provincial, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating change, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising the organization on needs and actions
  • Maintains and updates professional knowledge through continuous learning by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • As the Privacy Officer for Links2Care, maintains employee records, files and other administrative forms and materials and audits confidential information in accordance with Links2Care’s Confidentiality / Privacy policies and PHIPA and PIPEDA legislation

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related equivalent education and / or experience
  • CHRL Designation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources leadership with experience in all HR functions, preferably working within the health care or social services industries
  • Strong track record of identifying and implementing continuous improvements
  • Sound knowledge of employment legislation including, but not limited to, Human Rights, Employment Standards, Accessibility, Occupational Health & Safety and Privacy legislation and human resources best practices
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certified
  • WSIB Health & Safety Level 2 Certified
  • Energetic and positive
  • Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen prior to and throughout employment as requested by Links2Care is required
  • Employees who drive on behalf of Links2Care for work related purposes must possess and provide proof of a valid Ontario driver’s license and a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance on their vehicle
