Connection in Action
February 1, 2023

Connection in Action is relaunching its initiative with new branding and a new website, to reflect feedback from consultations with older adults.

Halton, Ontario. Connection in Action, an initiative of Halton’s Community Safety & Well-Being plan, announces the completion of its rebranding. The rebrand is a reflection of consultations conducted with older adults who live in Halton, as well as a reflection of the initiative’s development and growth.

Connection in Action was established in March of 2020. The initiative is overseen by Halton’s Older Adult Isolation Action Table, a partnership of over 20 cross-sector stakeholders.

With the establishment of the Community Knowledge and Mobilization Working Group in 2021 and the Website Subcommittee in 2022, action table members and older adult volunteers worked with the Community Engagement Lead to improve the existing logo, promotional materials, and website. Consultations with older adults were held in-person and over Zoom from 2021 to 2023 to gain insights on accessibility needs and preferences related to colours, font, images, materials, content, and much more.

Results from this work supported the development of the following:

  • a new logo in two versions;
  • a new website address with new content;
  • and new promotional materials: postcard, info-sheet for older adults, info-sheet for community, and a brochure.

The new tagline, social supports for older adults, offers a better idea of who the initiative is for and what it offers. The new colours bring a sense of life to the logo and branding. One older adult volunteer perceived the colours as reflecting light (yellow), water (blue), and earth (green), representing a holistic approach to older adult well-being.

Members of the Connection in Action initiative are excited for its relaunch and look forward to continued growth.
