Links2Care kicks off its eleventh-annual Backpack Program campaign!
Not only does this program help lower-income students start off the school year on the right foot, parents’ financial and emotional stress is also alleviated as they avoid dipping into rent or food budgets to ensure their children have the tools they need to succeed.
Last year, Links2Care provided 200 Halton Hills students with new backpacks filled with essential learning tools thanks to the generous support of local residents, groups and businesses. In addition, a committed group of high school students volunteered their time toward their graduation requirement and gained business, marketing and organizational skills while developing peer empathy and community awareness.
This year, just as schools are adapting to COVID-19, so are we, but we will not let the students go without! We will be distributing JK to Grade 12 School Supply Packs following H&S protocols carefully designed to minimize the spread of the virus.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Due to the current constraints of accepting physical donations of supplies, we are requesting financial donations only at this time to help us to purchase much needed items.
- By mail
- Online at https://www.links2care.ca/donate/
- In person following H&S protocols (masks and distancing)
- 360 Guelph Street, Unit 33, Georgetown, ON L7G 4B5
- 47 Mill Street East, Acton, ON L7J 1H1
We would greatly appreciate your help in promoting the program to Halton Hills families in need.
Sadly, to limit the number of people involved, we have taken the difficult decision to forego the collaboration of volunteers at the present time.
Preferably by email with proof of income (2019 notice of assessment) to [email protected]
The application is also available on our website, www.links2care.ca.
If you must come into our office, please wear a mask and follow distancing protocols.
PICK-UP will be by appointment only and again, following all COVID mask/distancing protocols. Recipients will be contacted in late August with details.
